Greyhound coffee table

The challenge of this design was to make an unsymmetrical piece of art that uses "sharp edges.

Its final shape inspired the title “The Greyhound”The drawer has a curved bottom and hand made dovetails. The only screws used in this piece are the ones holding the table top.

The idea was to develop the curved lines in harmony across the whole piece. All material used is local Blackbutt (Eucalyptus patens).This piece won second place in the Individual Furniture category of the "Out of the Woods 2000 " exhibition in Perth.
